This special edition of the R 58 dual boiler espresso machine commemorates the 100th edition of the famous Giro D'Italia bike race, which follows a 3,500km route around Italy over 23 days. Only 100 of these machines have been made (to mark 100 years and 100 winners); only four of those 100 are available in Canada, exclusively at Espressotec. The names of all 100 Giro D'Italia winners — including 2017's Tom Dumoulin and Canada's own Ryder Hesjedal from Victoria, BC (winner of the 2012 Giro D'Italia) — are concentrically laser-etched onto the right side panel. Each of the 100 machines is individually numbered. To further celebrate the prestigious race, the machines bear a bright and bold "Il Centisimo Giro D'Italia” emblem on both side panels, as well as maglia rosa-themed dual gauges. Even the outer box is pink! Each machine also comes with an original copy of la Gazette della sport newspaper.
Passionate cyclists themselves, the owners of Rocket Espresso are devoted to this level of high performance on the road as well as at the espresso bar. Much like a well-tuned carbon fibre road bike enhances your ride, you'll find the R58—with its classic dual boiler E61 setup, removable PID controls, and optional plumbing—a prime contender for creating some of the best espresso you've ever had. The winning combination of the dual boiler and the independent PID controllers for optimal temperature stability enables simultaneous extraction and milk steaming without sacrificing pressure or temperature consistency. Every handmade component is commercial-grade, from the dual pressure gauges and rotary pump to the thermosyphon system and e61 group head (weighing in at 9 lbs!) The available Rocket Fausto grinder pairs exceptionally with this machine.
Fun fact: With around 80 World Tour professional riders, and a number of teams using Rocket Espresso machines, a new slogan is making the rounds: “With a Rocket Espresso machine in your kitchen, you will be faster" #fact
