An absolute classic. The ever-popular Rancilio Silvia M is now fitted with a commercial steam wand and a redesigned steam knob. A new, ergonomic portafilter handle prominently features the Rancilio logo. Price includes 1 year parts & labour warranty.

The Rancilio Silvia M is the latest version of the classic, popular Rancilio Silvia espresso machine. Producing beautiful espresso and world-class steaming power, this machine is sure to satisfy your coffee needs!
The new Rancilio Silvia M is revamped from the previous V4 version:
  • Thermally insulated boiler
  • Redesigned power and element light indicators
The Rancilio Silvia M still includes upgrades preceding the V4:
  • Commercial steam wand with increased diameter and 360 degree ball-join steam wand
  • Larder, more ergonomic steam knob
  • Redesigned portafilter handle
  • New element material and removable element
  • Adjustable expansion valve to set grouphead pressure (for repair technicians only!)
  • Commercial style group head and chrome group bezel
  • Upgraded upper group for pods (with the installation of new Rancilio pod kit, sold separately)
  • Redesigned drip tray cover
  • Professional stainless-steel braided hose between pump and boiler

The Rancilio Silvia M is one of the most rugged espresso machines on the market in this price range and is backed by an Espressotec 1 year parts and labour warranty.

Rancilio Silvia: A machine that lives up to its reputation! The Rancilio Silvia not only looks stylish in its brushed stainless steel exterior but when matched with the Rancilio Rocky grinder and a few fresh coffee beans can deliver better espresso than most of the restaurants we know! The "Miss Silvia" has generated a lot of praise from it owners, becoming a present day legend. Although the Silvia is classified as a home espresso maker, it has many of the features found in commercial espresso machines, including its commercial handle, but at a much more affordable price. Rancilio has concentrated on performance features including the 58mm. commercial chrome plated brass portafilter handle, a large marine brass boiler, and a 3-way solenoid valve. All of these features are beautifully housed in a quality stainless steel body whose looks match its performance.

The delivery-group handle, group head, pump, filter screen, switches, thermostat, and 3-way electro-valve are all interchangeable with our Rancilio commercial machine parts. The 3-way solenoid electro-valve is found on all better quality espresso machines. It is often called an anti-drip system because it removes the excess water from the coffee puck after the shot is made. Additionally, it removes any lingering pressure in the group handle as soon as the pump is switched off. Most importantly of all, it adds long-term reliability.

The Silvia features a 900 Watt copper heating element and solid, heavy brass boiler and group head. The Silvia does takes several extra minutes to properly achieve perfect heat balance since its boiler is large and there are 7 lbs of brass boiler/group head to heat up. The main body of the machine is finished in a beautiful 304 satin-polished stainless steel over a solid iron frame. At 31lbs, this machine is made with durability in mind. The Silvia has a 1/3-liter marine-grade brass boiler, the largest in its class, to provide superior steaming power and accurate temperature stability, for the best consistency available in any home machine. The Silvia also has an instant hot-water dispenser available at the touch of a button for making long espressos and Americano's.

Although we love Miss Silvia, she may not be the home espresso machine for everyone. With a more commercial like design, proper espresso brewing technique is critical. The right grind and correct tamp are important prerequisites for brewing a perfect shot of espresso and we certainly recommend considering a Rancilio Rocky or Baratza Vario or similar grinder to accompany the Silvia. You also may want to let the machine warm up longer to achieve optimal temperature stability. If you are up to the task however, the results will be wonderful!

Auber Instruments Silvia PID Kits

We currently carry two PID devices from Auber Instruments, which can be installed to further enhance the performance of the Silvia M. With the purchase of either the Coffee & Steam Control PID or the Coffee & Steam Control with Pre-Infusion PID, we provide detailed instructions to guide you through the installation process.

Just purchase my Silvia after years of stovetop espresso - not sure what took so long to do this. Many years ago had commercial 3-group Rancilio machine and loved the quality and look of machine. Now very happy to be back to excellent yummy espresso to start my morning. Delivery of machine was incredibly quick. Thank you so much!

    10 years and going strong

Tremendous machine. I could not recommend any higher. I do replace the portafilter once a year and always remember to fill the water reservoir. I use it 4 times daily.

    Love Miss Silvia

Used to own a Seaco pressurized portafilter machine, and the Rancillio Silvia Pro has a steep learning curve but the results are worth it., so be patient. We love our Miss Silvia!

    Good Purchase

Posted by Tony on 2014 Apr 9th

I bought this a few months ago (prior to price increase) and am completely satisfied. I was worried at first because i ready a lot on there being a 'learning curve'. I find it very easy to use and the espresso produced is excellent (Rancilio Rocky grinder is a big help with that). I added the Auber PID after the fact so I should've purchased the unit with it already installed to save a few bucks. Espressotec supplied instructions to the PID and it is also very easy to set up and use. This machine should last for many years and by then I should have enough saved up for a Rocket.

    Highly Recommended

Very pleased with the purchase, highly recommended for the price point. My only minor criticism is that the capacity of the water reservoir and drip trays are on the small side.

The staff at Espressotec were very friendly and helpful. I'll be sure to return when it's time to upgrade.

    Love it

We received this machine 6 years ago for our wedding, it's the Rancilio Silva, but not the Pro. It has been used every single day of those 6 years and makes wonderful coffee. We love that it's not an automatic and we can adjust our settings and make it the way we like it. We've also replaced quite a few of the parts, it's been quick and easy to do this from espressotec., all the parts are easily available here and we always get them within 2 days. Love this machine!
